Innato Porsche GT3 Steering Wheel Review
The Innato Porsche GT3 steering wheel uses a momatec wheel which is in itself a 320mm inexpensive wheel, paired up with a replica porsche button box. The steering wheel is easy to replace incase you want a different one.
The box is made in 4 major parts: The main and rear plates are made of carbon fiber, the thickness is around 3 or 5mm. The second part is the housing, which is a single 3d printed part. The middle part is where all the electronics are. The button box uses through m5 bolts on the standard 70mm pattern. You could order the wheel with a Thrustmaster adapter/quick release or pair it up to a accuforce or any 70mm 6 bolt pattern hub.
The buttons are easy to distinguish with gloves. You don't here clicking sound when pressing the buttons, however when pressed, you know you have pressed them. The button box comes with 2 rotary encoders and 2 funky switches. This makes the wheel not the exact replica however, Innato decided to tweak the design for sim racing which I think was a great idea! Both funky switches and rotary encoders work great, you can easily feel each click when rotated, and after a few hours of usage i have not moved them accidentally. The ~26 button/functions work great for all sim racing applications.
The paddle shifters are magnetic and made in carbon fiber 4mm thick, and they use a rather strong set of magnets which yield a loud (awesome) and satisfying click when used. Lastly, the paddles edges have been rounded out. Whilst this is not a huge difference when using gloves, it does feel rather nice when driving with your bare hands.
Before we forget: The Innato GT3 Steering Wheel needs no sw or anything to work, just plug it in your USB port and everything works as it should!
A fantastic sim racing steering wheel! Very good price compared to other GT3 steering wheels, easy to replace should something go wrong, easy to mount on any system due to the 70mm 6x bolt pattern.
