Codemasters reveals the F1 2020 release date!
Codemasters has announced that the F1 2020 game will be released on July 10th. And, for the first time in franchise history, the game features a team management mode!!
The F1 season 2020 is still waiting for the official launch due to the outbreak of the coronavirus and it is still unclear when and where exactly that will happen. However, a start for the first weekend in July seems to be out of the question and that could have consequences on the release date of the official game of this Formula 1 season. Codemasters, however, makes quick work of doubts about when the game will be released. F1 2020 will be released on July 10, a week before the British Grand Prix is scheduled.
The main new addition to the game is the introduction of a team management mode called 'My Team'. Here, gamers can enter a career mode and start their own team at the same time, which will be the eleventh race stable to be included in career mode. As a gamer, you are responsible for finding sponsors, building and managing the facilities of the team and hiring drivers and an engine supplier. It is also possible to play shorter seasons in career mode, which consist of not 22, but 10 or 16 races. Circuit Zandvoort and the Hanoi Street Circuit, the new circuits that F1 will visit in 2020, are also included in the game.
In addition to the regular edition, there will also be a special edition of F1 2020 on the market. In honor of 70 years of Formula 1 and Lewis Hamilton's pursuit of his seventh world title, putting him on par with Michael Schumacher, Codemasters is introducing the "F1 2020 Deluxe Schumacher Edition". With this edition, four additional historic cars from Schumacher's career can be driven: the Jordan 191 in which he made his debut, the two Benetton cars that made him world champion, and the Ferrari F1-2000, which earned him his first title on behalf of Ferrari. In addition, people who order the Schumacher edition can play F1 2020 three days earlier. Split screen mode returns after a 5-year hiatus, while Formula 2 is retained for F1 2020.
"F1 2020 promises to be our biggest and most innovative title yet," said Paul Jeal, the director of the F1 franchise at Codemasters. “Our core players will welcome even more in-depth gameplay with the introduction of the new My Team mode, in addition to three season lengths that are customizable, allowing them to choose their favorite tracks. In the year Lewis Hamilton strives for his seventh world title, we honor the greatest F1 driver of all time with our Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition, which we know will be popular in our community. ”
Starting on July 10, F1 2020 will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, while the game will also be released on Google Stadia for the first time.
