The Forza Motorsport Community Update 2.0

, door Mark Verwoert, 4 min leestijd

In the Forza Motorsport update 1.0 and 1.1 article, I told you about the upcoming Forza Motorsport community update 2.0. Well, it's here! And good news, there are several bugs fixed, and new content has been released. From now on, we can drive on the amazing Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, there are more career events, earn reward cars, and there are new multiplayer events. But more importantly, we are getting rid of a lot of bugs that were causing instability. Whether it was lag, PC-related issues, or problems with the livery – Forza made a serious effort to better our gaming experience.

Let’s have a look at the changes!

New Content, Features, and Events

Let’s start with the content. Forza hasn’t been idle since the last patch. They have created a variety of content to reengage the interest in the game. Below you will find a highlight of some of the biggest content addons. Afterward, we will look at smaller or specific additions.

  • New track: Yas Marina (Full Circuit, North Corkscrew, North Circuit, South Circuit).
  • New career events, including the Prestige Tour, British GT Series, V12 Power Series, Maximum Velocity Series, and Boutique Builds Series.
  • Open Class – Italian Manufacturers series available from Nov. 16, 2023, to Dec. 14, 2023, with C Class, B Class, A Class, and S Class series.
  • Reward cars for the Prestige Tour and Open Class Series.

On to the specifics!

Spotlight Cars:

  • Featuring various cars from Nov. 16 to Dec. 13, including Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Mazda, Bugatti, Saleen, Spania GTA, MG, and Gordon Murray Automotive.

Car Pass Cars:

  • New cars are available, such as the 1965 Lotus, 2019 McLaren, 2018 Mercedes-AMG, and 2019 Peugeot.

New Multiplayer Events:

  • Vintage Le Mans Sportscars, Subaru BRZ Spec Series, The Birth of Grand Prix, and Forza P2 Series.

New Rivals Events:

  • Featured Track with Koenigsegg Jesko, VIP High Velocity with Hyundai Veloster N Forza Edition, and spotlights on specific cars.

Bug Fixes and Improvements in the Forza Motorsport 2.0 Update

If we are honest, content wasn't the issue with Forza Motorsport. It was the numerous crashes and instability that caused a lot of frustration with its fanbase. Forza has made a serious effort to resolve the instability issues, lag issues, and wheel-specific problems. I’ve made a clear overview below about the fixes. Mind you, this is a summary of all the fixes. The actual list can be found here on Forza Motorsport.

    Stability:

    • Fixes to improve overall game stability and reduce crashes on all platforms.

    Livery Editor:

    • Various fixes for issues like viewing and unlocking tunes, black paint shades, and paintable inner barrels on factory rims.

    PC:

    • Fixes for shader recompilation on AMD chipsets, the game crashes with front panel headphones and Steam-related issues.

    Multiplayer:

    • Improvements to matchmaking, custom liveries, countdown timers, and wet tire selection.

    Gameplay:

    • Fixes for various issues, including infinite loading screens, car tune exploits, and visual scene transitions.

    Cars:

    • Fixes for car-specific issues, including visual upgrades and incorrect thumbnails.

    Accessibility:

    • Fixes for narrator voiceovers and other accessibility issues on all platforms.

    Wheels:

    • Fixes for Thrustmaster T248 LED screen and various wheel-related issues.

    Conclusion

Forza announced that the Forza Motorsport Community Update 2.0 would be larger and more impactful than the 1.0 & 1.1 update. They kept their word, as many instability issues have been addressed. As a sweetener, we also have new content to discover and the Yas Marinas circuit to test our maximum pace. However, not everything is fixed. There are still issues that need to be resolved, but those issues are becoming more specific rather than general issues like we had before. This is a good step in the right direction for Forza Motorsport.
